Austin Healey 100-4/6 & 3000 1953-1968 - Mufflers/silencers

The rear silencer is the last part of the exhaust system. It is also the part where moisture remains longest. This moisture in combination with the acids from exhaust gases makes this muffler the most sensitive to wear. The rear damper is also important for the noise production of your Austin Healey 100, Austin Healey 4/6, Austin Healey 3000.

Signs of a defect on the rear silencer:
-Rust on the rear silencer
-Breaks in the rear damper
-Increased engine noise while driving

Causes of rear silencer failure:
-Still moisture in combination with acids from the exhaust gases
-Rusty exhaust clamps
-Swear on the suspension rubbers
